The Setup:
- 2 sand coaches
- 2 sand recruiters
- 14 sand players
- 8-16 Contests
- 3 sand scholarships (increasing 1/yr until there are 6 scholarships for dual-sport schools and 8 for sand-only schools)
- 132 day sand season split into 2 segments:
- The Nonchampionship Segment starting September 7th- 2 Contests can be entered
- The Championship Segment starting on the first Thursday in March through end of Recognized National Championships- 16 Contests can be entered
- The above Contest limits don't include championship, alumni games, fund-raising, charity, or celebrity events
- One Dual per year against a Club Team can count toward minimum competition requirements
- One Tournament per year may count as long as 40% of teams are club teams
The Competitions:
- 8 to 16 Competitions consisting of Duals and Multi-opponent Tournaments
- At least 3 competitions have to be Duals
The parameters hint toward the development of sand volleyball club teams to compete against, and I believe it will be a desired means of practice to scrimmage club teams. Club teams will also be invited to play in tournaments, although they can't be more than 40% of the teams entered. This means the more established and organized club teams will be entered into NCAA level tournaments! There's no better way to do that than through the CBVL
ReplyDeleteFirst- this just blew open a new world.
ReplyDeleteSecond- any difference between CBVL & CBVA?
The CBVL is the result of my senior project- recruiting beach volleyball clubs to band together (and form clubs at colleges without them) and make beach an official "club sport". CBVL is my creation and I hope colleges use my website to build clubs and join for free to network in the collegiate beach community.
