NCAA sand volleyball to start in 2011?
Since the AVP folded 5 weeks ago, it seems logical that the NCAA would take a second look at starting sand volleyball so soon, especially since the vote to approve the sport was so close! It is rumored that sand volleyball will be voted on again as early as January. Unfortunately, my guess is that the NCAA will vote and take sand volleyball off the schedule for at least next year. This means that a league at the club sport level is all the more important. While the AVP is inevitably going to reorganize and start operating soon on the professional side of the sport, college students should band together just underneath the relatively soon-to-be NCAA level of play.

We're good to go! The NCAA met last month to go over parameters of the emerging sport and things went very well. They're making great decisions about the sport and starting off on the right foot. Keep an eye out for an NCAA post in the near future.
